What you need:

  • 3-4 lb chicken
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 medium or 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/4 t black pepper
  • 3/4 c chicken broth
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil

What you do:

  • Place veggies in the bottom of the slow cooker.  Add chicken
    broth.  Set chicken on top of veggies.  Add salt, pepper, garlic
    and basil; cover.  Cook for 8 hours on low.
