What you need:

  • 2 lbs round steak cut in strips
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 3 T brown sugar
  • 11/2 T vinegar (white)
  • 3 t Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/8 t black pepper
  • cooked rice

What you do:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet.  Brown beef in hot oil; drain.  Add beef
    and remaining ingredients except the rice into the crock-pot and
    mix.  Cook, covered, for 6-7 hours on low.  Serve over hot rice.
