Red Velvet cake is a favorite recipe that originates from the South. The cake is actually a creation from the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. This colorful treat uses red beets for getting that coloration, however people from the south make use of food color. Which is more than a little funny, given that lots of people in the Southern U.S. grow gardens and put up beets. I'm guessing that it is simply easier to use bottled colour.

Three and a-half cups cake flour

Only one tsp of. salt

One cup saltless butter, softened

1-1/2 cups granulated sugar

Two eggs

4 tbsp of. unsweetened Dutch cocoa powder

An ounce of. red food coloring

1 teaspoon. 100 % pure vanilla flavoring
One cup of buttermilk

1 teaspoons of. cider or white vinegar

A tsp. baking soda

Preheat stove to 350F for 13 mins before baking cake.

Inside a mixing bowl, sift flour and salt. Set aside.

Inside a different mixing bowl, mix butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy, at a medium speed for three minutes. Add eggs, individually, stirring it good after every addition.

In a normal size bowl, stir together cocoa powder, food coloring along with vanilla extract. Beat this into your butter mixture.

Stir a third of the flour blend in to the butter mixture, switching along with one half of the buttermilk, another third of flour, the left over buttermilk, and also the left over flour mixture; stir until mixed.

Inside a cup, combine vinegar and baking soda. Mixture might fizz. Stir this in to the batter and blend well.

Divide batter equally between a pair of greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.

Bake for approximately 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick put into middle comes out clean.

Let cakes to cool in pans using a wire rack for 10 minutes. Run a blunt knife along edges of the pan to free cake; take out cake smoothly from pans and cool completely on wire rack. That's it, your done!
