What you need:
- 2 lbs round steak cut in bite sized pieces
- 3/4 lb bacon cooked crisp, drained, and broken into pieces
- 28 oz can whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
- 2 (15 -16 oz) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 celery ribs, sliced
- 2 T chili powder
- 2 t ground cumin
- 1 T parsley, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 T vegetable oil
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 t black pepper
What you do:
- Heat oil in a large skillet. Add round steak and cook for a few
minutes until browned; drain. Place beef in a 3.5 quart or larger crock pot. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Cook, covered, for 6-8 hours on low. Serve topped with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream or jalapenos.
